News: ALDI Ireland wins communication award at the Sustainable Business Impact Awards

ALDI Ireland has won the Communication – Multinational Company award at this year’s Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Awards in recognition of its corporate responsibility strategy, ‘Better Everyday’. The award recognizes the fantastic work ALDI has done to communicate this comprehensive strategy both to internal staff and external stakeholders alike.

The Better Everyday campaign improved communications internally with employees and externally with charity partners, customers and other key business stakeholders regarding ALDI’s comprehensive work and engagement in corporate responsibility (CR). ALDI’s CR strategy is formed around three pillars – Greener, Fairer and Healthier – which outline the steps ALDI is taking to continuously improve its business operations for its customers, the environment and the local communities in which it operates.

The campaign was launched with a detailed and tailored communications program across digital, public relations, advertising, in-store materials and ALDI’s internal communications platform to ensure staff, the public and stakeholders were aware of the strides ALDI is making in its CR program. Judges praised the comprehensive steps taken throughout the campaign to build awareness of ALDI’s CR initiatives and empower each of its employees to engage with projects to support social and environmental concerns in the local community.

ALDI was also commended for its work with high-profile stakeholders and celebrities to increase awareness of the work it is doing in CR, including working with ALDI ambassador Paul O’Connell to participate in its ‘Better Everyday’ TV advert to launch the campaign.

Celebrating the award win, ALDI Ireland’s group managing director, Niall O’Connor (pictured) said, “At ALDI, we understand that business growth goes hand-in-hand with a robust corporate responsibility strategy. Communication is vitally important to highlight the work that ALDI’s staff is undertaking, as it allows us to share best practice and knowledge both internally and externally. We are committed to working with our charity partners to help push towards our commitments, and we are delighted to receive this award in recognition of the impact of our campaign to date.”
