I founded Strategic two years ago as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. What stood out for me at the time was that public relations and communications professionals around the world came together to determine best industry practice for their organisations and clients. Strategic was, and still is, a platform for sharing PR expertise in one place. At its core, PR nurtures relationships and ensures tone and messaging reflect the environment in which we all operate. 

During the past week and in light of Russia’s war in Ukraine, there is a renewed industry focus on relationships, tone and messaging. For that reason, this issue of Strategic leads with a piece from PR industry leader Francis Ingham, director general at the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), and chief executive at the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO). He shares how they have responded since the invasion last Thursday.

In an general sense, the editorial theme for this issue of Strategic primarily explores how public relations (PR) contributes to business growth. As always, it has interviews with industry experts, insights, opinion pieces, extracts, and recent news.
